An entirely new sequence is added in which, upon attempting to leave the castle, Frederic, Polka, Beat and Salsa come across a pair of soldiers who are bringing a large mirror called Lament to Crescendo's study.

A new cutscene is added at the end of Chapter 2, in which the party lands in the waters beneath the Cabasa Bridge and Allegretto tries to save Polka, but is unable to reach her and gets swept away. This dialogue was previously absent, leading Viola's statement "That was about what we expected" when the party arrived at the Cabasa Bridge to feel somewhat apropos of nothing. Following the story of the Sage King, the party discusses the mineral powder and Jazz states that he'll tell the party everything they know while they're walking.A new sequence is added in the game's opening in which Frédéric François Chopin is heard lamenting the fate of his late sister, Emilia, while the Fortuneteller states that a new journey begins and Solfege states "Once again, it all comes to an end.".In contrast to the cutesy cell-shading of the game world, this creates a really intriguing, interesting looking design that is easy to love.Spoiler Warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. The game uses classical piano music and cutscenes loaded with real paintings and photography. Bunin is a well-regarded pianist, but his work is composed and arranged by Motoi Sakuraba. One of the main things to like about Eternal Sonata is that it tends to use the work of Stanislav Bunin. A classic RPG experience with a specific twist (8.5/10) The games intriguing setup, character setting, and plot, though, very much make for an experience that is worth trying out and sharing. It’s also got a very intriguing light/dark system that can play a massive role in how battles play out, and even how enemies appear. The games battle system revolves around musical concepts and bespoke character attacks. While it takes ideas from many RPGs of the same era, especially the Final Fantasy series in many ways, Eternal Sonata is a game that really does play its own tune in more ways than one. When you want to play an RPG like this, you might find it hard to notice a game with a direct comparison.
