Though I’ve seen a lot of Super 20’s, I surely haven’t seen them all. Personally, I’ve never seen a“pearl” Super 20 that didn’t have gold lacquer on the neck. Most of the silver necks were gold lacquered up to the point that the pearl keys were discontinued however, I was recently informed by a King aficionado that the factory would lacquer some of the horns with clear lacquer making the neck silver in color. But lacquer doesn’t stay on silver very well, so most examples one might see have no lacquer on the neck. By the way, there is still some of the original gold lacquer on the neck…when King made these horns, the idea of a silver neck appealed to everybody from a sonic perspective, but the aesthetic folks at King decided that the horn would look better if the neck were the same color as the body. It has absolutely no effect on how it plays, so I left it the way it is. more it out, but there is some question whether the lacquer would stand the soldering and resoldering that would be necessary to get the dent out. There is a“wow” in the bow guard there is a very insignificant push in at the point of the wow. Probably about 85% The only really significant wear is on the trouser side of the bell and body-I think the picture of the back of he horn shows this pretty clearly. Not nearly as large as most of the ones available, these are great because they preserve the dark sound while improving the projection. This horn has a fairly recent repad/rebuild by the great Brad Wherry I had him make resonators for it that are small in diameter. This is the one that most players want…pearl keys, silver neck, and the G# key moves in the same direction as the left hand spatula. Comes with hard carry case in great shape as well as neck strap, new mouth piece, one full set of 10 packaged unused#3 reeds $50 value plus saxaphone stand $40 value as shown in photos. Brass is being polished this week photos are of the sax in unpolished condition. Pad replacement adjustment, disinfected and cleaned. The saxaphone was just serviced to make sure everything was in order spent $120 in getting it checked out including leak test. It is very loud and stood out in her band. It does have one finger tip dent as shown in the photos as well as some light scratches. more last two years so it sat in the case.
